Pupils and staff from Kirkriggs Primary School hosted a special Big Breakfast last month in honour of Malawi and raising over £150 in the process.
Their teacher, Pat Marrinan, helped the youngsters organise the fundraiser and children tucked into their favourite cereals and fruit with the aim of raising as much money as they could.
Pat is delighted with the school’s efforts and said: “The school was keen to organise an event that everyone could take part in and above all, have fun.
“We all had a hearty and healthy breakfast and it was a great start to the school day.
“The children realise that our friends in Malawi are not all able to enjoy the food that we do and this was an important lesson to learn.
“We are delighted with the amount we were able to send to contribute to Malawi Leaders of Learning.”
